Triangulum (The Triangle) |
A small but distinctive northern constellation between Andromeda and Aries, one of the 48 constellations listed by Ptolemy (c. AD 140). Its three brightest stars, of magnitudes 3.0, 3.4 and 4.0, form a small, elongated isosceles triangle. Triangulum includes the large spiral galaxy, M33, which is a member of the Local Group.
